Taking pictures of roads and paths comes natural to me. I think there's a lot to be said how these pictures relate to me. I don't think anybody has ever said anything about it though.

Feels like vacation

When it's nice weather and you take a walk to explore Rotterdam, it feels a lot like being on vacation. You just keep finding spots you've never seen, people enjoying the sun and facets of the city you'd never espect.

Noordereiland

The Noordereiland ("Northern Island") is quite a nice spot. It's filled with character, full of history, close to the city center, surrounded by water and even has a place to walk your dog. What more do you want? (People not harrassing me when I take pictures there, that's what I want.)

This is almost three weeks ago but I was struggling with the post-processing. I've been using Capture NX for quite a while now to convert my RAW's before I load them into Photoshop. For this shot I've used Adobe's Camera Raw. It will take some getting used to, but I think it's a good step. I had to tone down the saturation of the sky a lot compared to working from Capture but otherwise, this image is doing quite well.

Sometimes I really don't know why I take a picture. Not that I don't like the image, but it's almost sub-concious. Just walk around, see something, and make a picture.

Yeah, I totally do. Not exactly sure where it came from but I gladly admit. These lines in the landscape tend to grab my attention. And like anything that grabs my attention, it ends up in pictures.

Yeah, a tree. I came across this fine specimen on a walk today. It was on this abandoned camp site or allotment. Don't know what it was, but it had a really nice atmosphere.

[First upload failed] Danny Stolker came to the WDKA today. He had a presentation for the audiovisual department where he studied himself until 2004. He graduated with a movieclip supporting his musical carreer as Kas. In this shot we sat down for a moment in the part of the school where used to be a lot to dive into the technical details of moviemaking.

Is this bridging the gap or gapping the bridge? I like the concrete wood and it's contrast with the natural shapes around and below them.
